My Story
My dad has been by my side through my entire life.

From driving me three hours, three times a week to play volleyball in high school, to helping me move and celebrate my time attending the same university he attended, to welcoming me home with open arms after living in Florida for 5 years after college, to then encouraging me to chase my dreams and move to Austin, Texas. My dad has supported me in everything I’ve done in life and now that he needs a kidney, it’s my turn to support him in this process.
Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve always dreamed of my father walking me down the aisle on my wedding day. I want him to be there for all the big moments in my life that are to come. My wedding, having children, career moves, everything I can’t picture doing without my dad’s love and support. It’s also not just about the big moments, but the small moments too. Such as cooking together, watching live performances of his favorite bands on YouTube, planting flowers in the spring, and laughing together over little things and family inside jokes.
Right now, the best possible outcome for my dad to be able to live a long healthy life with his loving wife, his two devoted children, and his new beautiful granddaughter, is to receive a kidney donation. My father has spent his life improving his community, nurturing relationships with his family and friends, and being the best possible role model I could imagine. He has done so much good in his life, and I am certain that the universe will return the favor in the form of a healthy kidney.
Anyone interested in learning more can begin through the official IU Health living donor evaluation process linked on this site. All donor inquiries are handled confidentially by the transplant team. Even just sharing our family’s story is an immense favor and can help our family get one step closer to finding the right match.
